Fresh from the news of its new collaboration with Sony, Sharp has unveiled three new AQUOS HD Ready LCD TVs with the D44E range.
Arriving in 26in, 32in and 37in models, Sharp claims the sets 'afford anyone the 16:9 format home cinema experience', which is a slightly random and vacuous statement if you think about it.
Moving on, the LC-26D44E, LC-32D44E and LC-37D44E all offer 1366x768 pixel resolution with a 10,000:1 contrast ratio.
Sharp claims its brilliant colour display features proprietary optical image control that automatically adapts screen brightness to ambient lighting conditions. Elsewhere there's a 176-degree viewing angle, 6ms response time, enhanced programme overview with image-split and image-in-text function and built in DVB-T and analogue tuners.
Sonics are catered to by dual ten-watt speakers systems with built-in digital amplifier.
Connections include HDMI with HDCP support, dual SCARTs, S-Video, VGA in and audio out.
The LC-26D44E and LC-32D44E arrive late March in black and silver/grey retailing at £500 and £600 respectively, while the LC-37D44E goes on sale in July in black only for an as yet undisclosed amount.
