As part of a torrent of new products coming our way, Philips has launched the GoGear SA52 portable audio video player with the grandiose but comedy claim that it will 'bring sound back to music'.
This we assume is in reference to the 'Fullsound' technology that promises to 'greatly enhance' the quality of compressed music files like MP3s to create a 'symphony like experience'.
All sounds a bit wishy-washy to us, so we'll move on to some set-in-stone stats. It's a 4GB beast with MP3, WMA, AAC audio and WMV video support alongside an FM radio.
The QVGA LCD colour display is a sizeable 2.8in - good for both video and photos. Battery life is a quoted 25 hours for music and five hours for video.
Release dates and prices to be confirmed, but you'd have to think it's going to be competitive to prosper in this cutthroat market.
