Continuing its push of new products, Philips has unveiled four new offerings for its popular Streamium wireless music family with the WACS7500 flagship Streamium hub, WAS7500 satellite stations, WAS6050 wireless music station and NP1100 network player.
The WACS7500 wireless audio centre sports a new design and new features over the old model, including a Philips-first with internet radio access.
The fairly stingy 80GB hard drive is capacious enough for around 1,500 albums and can be accessed from the main unit or from up to five wirelessly connected WAS7500 stations around the home, with the same track played simultaneously throughout or different tracks on each station.
It can be integrated into an existing Wi-Fi network for access to your PC and two-way transfer of tracks, there's also an Ethernet port for backing up the system's hard disk and upgrading features and a USB connector for direct access to remote media.
Philips claims big improvements have been made across the board with better audio thanks to new mid-range panels, dedicated tweeter set-ups and integrated sub; new UI and 'a slick new design'.
The WAS6050 wireless music station is targeted towards smaller rooms such as the bedroom and can operate as satellite to the WACS7500 or independently. It too offers access to internet radio, wireless PC network and all other Streamium satellite stations.
The NP1100 however is a cost-effective simple network player aimed at those with a decent existing hi-fi. It wirelessly hooks up to a PC for remote enjoyment of digital music, internet radio and the like.
Available now, the WACS7500 retails at £700 and the WAS7500 at £200.
Pricing and availability for the WAS6050 and NP1100 are TBC.
