Post HD DVD and the rumours surrounding a potential Blu-ray add-on for Microsoft's next-gen console refuse to go away, no matter how fervently the company denies its interest.
The latest twist comes from Pegatron Technology, an OEM subsidiary of Asustek Computer, which claims it has received orders from Microsoft to assemble Xbox 360s with an incorporated Blu-ray Disc drive.
From a news story that originated in China's Economic Daily News newspaper, shipments are expected to commence towards the end of 2008 with one eye firmly on the Crimble market.
Element of truth or merely the hopes and dreams of a legion of dedicated 360-lovers in need of a little Blu-ray pick-me-up? Only time will tell, because Microsoft sure isn't.
