Further developments across the pond as Apple announces its Apple TV customers can now buy films from their sofa, without the need for their computer to be turned on.
This update comes alongside the news we recently brought you that Apple has signed a major deal to release films for sale on iTunes the very same day they go on sale as DVDs.
Teaming up with all but one of the major studios, Apple is really ramping up its aggression in the download market in a bid to secure Apple TV after a shaky first generation product.
Users will now be able to buy and rent movies direct via Apple TV, with a Top Sellers list showing the most popular releases. No system upgrade will be required for the new service, though it's still all a long way from arriving this in the UK.
