Vita Audio has unveiled the R4 Integrated Music System, a particularly posh looking high-end compact alternative to the traditional hi-fi.
The R4 comprises integrated iPod dock, multi-format CD player, DAB/FM tuner, USB port and aux inputs for hooking up external music sources.
Vita Audio is promising 'audiophile grade sound' with 3D enhanced stereo surround and an 80-watt nominal power output bolstered by an integrated subwoofer.
The iPod dock is compatible with the Classic first three Nano generations, Touch, Mini and fourth and fifth gen Pods with colour display. All other models are relegated to aux input status.
The slot-loading CD player is also MP3 and WMA disc encoded compatible, while the DAB/FM tuner delivers clock and alarm functions.
Also included is Vita's trademark removable RotoDial, used to scroll through the individual sources in-situ on the R4, or from afar as a remote control.
On sale in June, the 'rich walnut' model will set you back £500, while the 'dream white' adds £50 to the bill at £550.
