Paramount Blu-ray

With the format war a dim and distant memory, it's time to look to the future for Blu-ray, which is exactly what Paramount - the last studio to commit to Sony's next-gen baby - is doing.

Paramount has announced that before the end of May it will re-issue its entire Blu-ray back catalogue. A serious (and obvious) U-turn after its somewhat bizarre decision to back HD DVD exclusively last year, the company will be re-issuing its initial Blu-ray releases with exactly the same content, packaging and extras.

The total releases number in the mid 30s and include such luminary titles as Trading Places, the Mission: Impossible series, The Untouchables, The Warriors: Ultimate Director's Cut and, er, Norbit. Oh well, can't win 'em all.
