Creative has today announced the launch in Singapore of its Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 USB 2.0 audio solution, designed to upgrade the oft-crappy audio quality of a typical PC or laptop.
The Sound Blaster claims to be the easiest upgrade from standard incorporated audio to Xtreme Fidelity (X-Fi) thanks to its universal USB hook-up as opposed to the traditional ExpressCard slot requirement.
Simply plug in the USB direct to your poota and you'll automatically benefit from Creative EAX ADVANCED HD effects for gaming, full surround sound for movies and MP3 sound that's 'better than CD'.
It all works using CMSS-3D technology that beefs up the sound and a 24-bit Crystalizer that 'revitalises' download music and films by restoring details and vibrancy lost in compression.
On sale from the end of the month in Singapore, Creative's Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 for the equivalent price of around £40, there's as yet no confirmation it's coming to Blighty, but we're keeping 'em crossed nonetheless.
