Valve amp specialist PrimaLuna has unveiled its latest and perhaps greatest bit of kit with the ProLogue Eight valve CD player.

This crazed, hybrid looking music machine promises to deliver pitch-perfect audio with unrivalled clarity and thanks to its world first Super Tube Clock, super low jitter movement too.

It also serves up digital to analogue conversion, state of the art Burr-Brown upsampling, dual mono output stage and top quality componentry.

Available now, it's definitely not cheap at £1,590, but PrimaLuna assures us its playback quality rivals players retailing at double the price. Then again it would say that wouldn't it.
