Arcam is in the grip of a performance upgrade programme and as such has launched its 'affordable high-end integrated stereo hi-fi amplifier' the Full Metal Jacket FMJ A28 to replace both the £530 Diva A70 and £950 Diva A90.
Retailing at a midway £750, the A28 employs the wide-band power amp technology and ultra-stable thermal management from its A38 amp with a preamp section promising 'extreme fidelity and low noise performance'.
Six line level inputs are featured alongside a moving magnet phono stage and Arcam's proprietary 'Mask of Silence' and 'Stealth Mat' technologies for damping electro magnetic interference.
Built for advanced resolution formats be it vinyl or CD, the ultra-wide band design extends frequency response to deliver the full potential from the likes of SACD and 24-bit audio files.
The primary features then include a 75wpc integrated current feedback amplifier, SDS damped-steel low resonance chassis, studio grade electronic volume control, nine-character VFD display, menu drive control system and eight-page CR90 learning remote control.
The FMJ A28 goes on sale in June, and for your £750 you also get the choice of black or silver finish.
