Aiptek PocketCinema V10

The mini projector revolution has been gaining plenty of momentum over recent months with the first working models tentatively taking their first steps into an unknown market. And now it's the turn of Aiptek with its PocketCinema V10 projector, which comes in at about the same size as a mobile phone.

Inside sits 3M's mini projection technology that throws out an amazing 50in image, though with resolution remaining unconfirmed we'd expect it to be a VGA image as per 3M's previous projector incarnations.

Video support onboard runs to AVO and MPEG-4, with a three-in-one AV jack for video hook up.

On board memory tops out at 1GB, but there's a multi-card slot with support for MMC, SD and MO Pro cards for expansion, while a token stereo speaker implies that it will be good for impromptu movie screenings or audio-enhanced mini presentations.

Aiptek has a reputation more grounded in the well-priced and decent performing than the groundbreaking, but the PocketCinema V10 certainly looks cool so we'll keep our hopes high for now.

No word on UK release dates or pricing, but we'll let you know when it's due.
