MAGIX Rescue Your Videotapes

Okay, so we're supposed to be all about the new technology here at AVReview - and believe us there's nothing we love more than a shiny great new TV or unfathomably expensive HDMI cable, but sometimes a product harks back to the old school and twangs the odd heartstring.

Such is the case with the MAGIX Rescue Your Videotapes package.

If you still can't bring yourself to bin the old VHS collection, this could be the chance to restore your favourite footage, be it the classic Den and Angie EastEnders Christmas divorce episode or irreplaceable home movies from the eighties.

The kit comprises a USB converter and software package - just plug your video into one end and your PC into the other and you can rip your stuff straight onto the PC, from where you can burn it to disc as either DVD, VCD and even Blu-ray.

You can also edit your footage with titles and the like via the bundled editing software.

On sale now, the MAGIX Rescue Your Videotapes kit costs £50.
