Widely touted on the web as Creative's next flagship media player, pics of the ZEN X-Fi have appeared on a fan site online.
Things don't actually look massively different to the current ZEN (but then there is the old adage, 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it) bar of course the addition of Wi-Fi.
Claimed specifications run as you would expect, with support running to MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, Audible for audio and WMA video, MPEG4, DivX and MJPEG for the visual side.
The X-Fi refers to the incorporated tech, with Crystallizer and Expand sound effects for the flash.
The inclusion of Wi-Fi has to signal some kind of external hook-up, likely a wireless streaming service from Creative's Public Media Server, with instant Yahoo and MSN messaging likely supported too.
In-built speaker and 'premium' headphones (still buy your own) are included, with playback stretching to five hours for video and 36 for audio.
The big crunch stats such as capacity, price, screen etc are yet to be confirmed, but judging by what we've seen here there'll be no great shake ups.
