Acer has announced a duo of new home cinema projectors to its AV line-up in the shape of the P3250 and P5280.
Though it looks like they'll be the sole preserve of the Japanese market for the foreseeable future, we've not seen any new releases from Acer for quite a while now so there's a strong possibility these will lead to similar Euro launches in the not too distant future.
The cheaper P3250 delivers a not exactly earth shattering 1024x768 resolution, with 2,000 ANSI lumens brightness rating that drops to 1,600 if and when the 'Eco' mode is enabled.
Contrast ratio sits at 2000:1 and connectivity is taken care of by RGB and HDMI ports. The built-in 2W speakers are more of a convenience than anything and should always be substituted for a big meaty set of home cinema speakers.
The higher-grade P5280 also sports a 1024x768 resolution, but ups the brightness levels to 3,500 lumens, dropping to 2,800 in 'Eco' mode.
Contrast ratio stays at 2000:1, but connectivity is ramped up with HDMI, DVI, RGB, S-Video, composite and analogue all in attendance.
The P3250 is expected to retail somewhere around the 600 euro mark, with the P5280 a shade pricier at 660 euros.
