UK company Opus Technologies has launched two new products to improve integration between its Opus 500 and other smart home systems, intended to make your home theatre experience even slicker.
The SCU600 Serial Control Unit allows you to control third party solutions like lighting, video switching and blinds. Teamed with the Opus 500 it delivers complete control and in turn can be remote controlled by a variety of third party remotes such as AMX, Crestron and Philips Pronto and more.
The SCU600 can control two separate third party systems simultaneously, is backwards compatible with all Opus 500 systems and can be retrofitted to replace its older sibling the SCU500.
It sports dual RS232 ports and is available in silver for £375 plus VAT.
The TXT600 Text Interface Unit enables playlist, track, album, artist and genre information to be displayed on Opus WCU500 and WCU600 keypads from a number of manufacturers.
Media servers can be 'interrogated' on keypad screens, and it's compatible via RS232 port with X/VATM based media servers.
As with the SCU600, it's fully backwards compatible with existing Opus 500 systems and can be retrofitted to replace existing TXT500 systems. It can also connect up to four MCU5000s simultaneously.
Arriving in SCU600 matching silver, the TXT600 will set you back £175 plus VAT. Both go on sale in July.
