TVonics has launched the DTR-Z500 Freeview+ box with the terror-inducing claim that its 500GB hard disk is capacious enough to record an entire year of EastEnders. Now that's a lot of cockney.
The first 500GB Freeview+ box, it can store 250 hours of digital radio and TV and features dual recording so you can record two channels while watching a third. Which also means you can pause, rewind and fast-forward live TV.
Other features include series recording, picture-in-picture dual channel viewing and a decent eco rating of 1.5W power consumption in standby mode and 15W when in operation.
The DTR-Z500 arrives in August for a price of £230, but it has the looks and style to match the outlay. And TVonics is also launching a 250GB version the DTR-Z250 for £200, though for an extra £30 we'd plump for the Z500.
