Sony has finally put up for sale its BDP-S350 Blu-ray spinner across the pond at a price point that could finally make the technology accessible to the masses.
The BDP-S350 is Sony's first Profile 2.0 player, which means it is the first capable of taking full advantage of the BD-Live online and downloadable content.
Actually, to clarify that, it will be the first Profile 2.0 player, as the company promises BD-Live will be enabled via a firmware update at some point later this year.
Feature wise, the S350 is obviously 1080p Full HD compatible with upscaling, delivers 7.1-channel Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio lossless surround sound and picture-in-picture technology called Bonus View.
As mentioned, the US price is good at $400, especially given the current exchange rate, but there's no fixed UK release date as yet, and when it does arrive (as it surely will) it'll likely run to more than £200.
