All the way over in Japan, Mitsubishi has announced a new range of televisions with the MZW200 series.
Topping the line are the 40in and 46in models powered by Mitsubishi's Diamond Engine Pro III technology delivering 16-bit colour, 15000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 3000:1 base ratio.
Both models are obviously 1080p Full HD, aided by 120Hz refresh rates with a quartet of HDMI socketry and HDMI-CEC single remote compatibility.
Drop down a price bracket and you have the 37in and 42in models that also show 1080p Full HD but don't benefit from that 120Hz refresh rate.
Exact model names are not known yet, but the 46incher will retail at $3643, the 40incher at $2735, the 42incher at $2543 and the 37incher at $2089 - all will be on sale October 21.
Three other 720p models are also on their way - the 19in 19ATL20, 26in 26MX20 and 32in 32MX11 (pictured) retailing at $908, $1,090 and $1,181 respectively.
Perhaps more interestingly is the expectation that Mitsubishi is about to unveil its first HDTV with incorporated Blu-ray disc spinner and a concept called REAL Blu-ray, though details are nonexistent at the moment.
