S3e, S5e and S6e

Spendor's new S series loudspeakers cater for a variety of consumer needs from bookshelf models to large floorstanders. All feature many innovations including linear flow port technology for non-turbulent low frequency air flow and predictable bass response, Spendor 'e' drive units with internally damped ep38 polymer cones for ultra low coloration and dynamically damped cabinets which reduce energy re-radiation to inaudible levels.
The S3e is a two-way stand or bookshelf loudspeaker with a 2D linear flow reflex. Despite its size the Spendor S3e shares the same advanced technology and design principles as Spendor's larger loudspeakers. At the heart of the S3e is a 140mm Spendor bass-midrange driver with our new ep38 polymer cone and thermally engineered magnet plates to ensure absolute linearity at any playing level. The S3e will sit happily on either a stand or bookshelf.
The Spendor S5e floorstander has two individual 140mm Spendor drive units, one handling the midrange and upper bass, the other dealing with very low frequencies. Spendor claims theS5e has excellent efficiency and an easy to drive load so there's no need for an especially powerful amplifier. With its linear flow reflex technology there's the option of placing the cabinet very close to a rear wall and the bass will remain clean and controlled.

| S8e and S9e
|
The next model up is the S6e two-way floorstanding loudspeaker. The cabinet is constructed using substantial (18mm) high density panels which are critically braced and dynamically damped to create a 'dead' structure which also clamps each drive unit in place with a vice-like grip.
Similarly, the S8e is a two-way floorstanding loudspeaker and consists of a 210mm plastic coned bass-midrange driver with an exceptionally smooth extended response. The large cone's radiating area and freedom from resonance and break-up is said to deliver a brilliantly detailed and vibrant sound. 3D linear flow reflex loading gives the bass more authority and depth, even when the cabinet is located close to a wall.
The S9e is a three-way floorstander housing a 220mm Spendor bass drive unit with a Kevlar composite cone, dual suspension, cast magnesium alloy chassis and a fully vented all-black magnet/coil motor system. The special Spendor 140mm midrange unit is in its own sealed enclosure with aerodynamically profiled rebates to ensure that no reflections or disturbances will impair the sound. High frequencies are handled by a 27mm soft dome tweeter which is claimed to produce an even, detailed sound over a wide and deep listening area.

The Spendor SR5 is designed for on-wall installation. The slim cabinet is profiled and dimensioned to integrate with a specially developed Spendor 140mm bass-midrange drive unit. As a result the SR5 has an optimally flat and correctly damped frequency response. To guarantee consistent sound the bracket incorporates two non-resonant polymer damping rings to control the flow of energy from the cabinet to the wall. The Spendor SR5 is ideal for two, five or seven-channel loudspeaker systems.

Spendor claims the C5e two-way centre channel loudspeaker will deliver low distortion, wide even dispersion and fabulous sound even when it is located on or close to shelves, screens, equipment, or walls. The low overall height and modest depth of the C5e makes it perfect when space is at a premium.

The C9e three-way centre channel loudspeaker features optimum low frequency alignment, powerful drive unit motors, a sealed bass enclosure and acoustically isolating non-slip feet. The six-sided cabinet with three individual matching grilles allow the midrange drive unit and tweeter to be positioned clear of nearby sound reflecting screens or shelves.
For custom installations the cabinet can be permanently installed via four substantial M8 mounting points. The C9e has a power handling for up to 250 watts, an efficiency of 88dB, heavy duty bi-wirable gold-plated terminals and an eight-ohm load.
