HI-FI | AV | SPEAKERS | CABLES | THE WINNERS

AVR has been bringing you essential hi-fi and AV reviews and advice for three years now, so we figured it's time for the first ever AVR Awards.

Our writers have voted for their favourite products they've seen in the last year with first, second and third places for each category. Below are the three shortlisted products for each, in no particular order. We'll be announcing the overall winners on February 2nd.

In the meantime, let us know what you think of the choices in the forum below.

The Yamaha 863  is not a receiver it is a AV amplifier that should not be considered because it has no standby light so consequently is potentially dangerous, not knowing if it is connected to the LIVE mains without looking at the wall socket. The power cord is too thin for a amp is this price range furthermore it does not decode DSD direct to Analogue without internally converting to decimating PCM  same goes for Pioneer LX81
