Building on its well received DD340, Felston's new DD540 digital audio delay DD540 brings more power and connectivity to the battle for lip sync perfection.
The Felston DD540 features dual inputs and outputs, both optical and coaxial, allowing two digital audio sources to be connected simultaneously; for example, a DVD player and a suitable cable or satellite receiver box. By delaying the audio signal between sources and amplifier, the DD540 puts sound and picture back in sync once more.

To correct for lip sync, the user simply adjusts the delay using the DD540's remote control. Any delay from 0 to 680ms can be set in 1ms steps and if two sources are connected to the DD540, the active input is selected automatically or can be selected manually by the user. Different sources often require different delays, and so when the input changes, the DD540 also restores the last delay used for that input. In addition there are 12 user-programmable presets (6 per input) and should no lip sync error correction be required, in standby mode the signals pass through the DD540 with no delay applied.
The DD540 also features enhancements such as adjustable display brightness, tight integration with Pronto and similar learning remotes, and configurable output sockets. The DD540 is compatible with all current digital audio DVD and broadcast formats. Audio quality is said to be unaffected thanks to bit-perfect reproduction and re-clocking that retain full integrity of the digital audio signal.
The DD540 will be available from the end of April at a retail price of £140. More details are available on the Felston website: www.felston.com
