International design guru David Wiener Ventures (DWV) has unveiled the Art.Suono Wireless Music Enhancing Transmission System, which upon close inspection appears to be a rather good-looking iPod dock with some wireless tech bundled in for good measure.
Art.Suono is apparently the only compact wireless music enhancing system with DWC-Aphex Systems technology and full iPod compatibility. It is also apparently 'an elegant sculpture that enhances any environment in which it is placed'.
The system uses a proprietary wireless transmission technology, DWC-wireless, that lets users transmit any audio source to any audio system.
Another new exclusive technology comes in the shape of the DWC-Aphex circuitry long used by professional audio engineers and musos like James Taylor and that guy from The Beatles with the dodgy ex-wife. Paul McCartney - that's him.
The tech apparently makes recorded music sound more 'alive' by restoring the harmonics lost in compressed music files and improving the imaging, and also optimises bass frequency response to make audio systems sound more powerful without actually increasing volume.
The DWC-Aphex circuitry also claims to maintain the spaciousness and clarity of music at all sound levels to 'make listening to music far more enjoyable'.
The Art.Suono also harnesses Spread Spectrum tech 'generally considered the most effective method of achieving effective communication in the 2.4GHz ISM band'. Frequency Hopping means no dropouts in sonics when the system is changing channels.
The system consists of compact transmitter and receiver units, with each transmitter able to serve up to two receivers.
Crafted in machined aircraft-grade aluminium with carbon fibre accents, the system fits any iPod, will charge them all and has an 'Engine Start' power button and 'Shift' input signal switch, making it more than a little vehicular.
Rolling out across the pond now, the Art.Suono retails at around $1,500.
