Logitech has added a host of new music services available for its Squeezebox network music players, chief of which is Napster which will now open its library of more than seven million songs to Squeezebox owners in the UK and Germany.
Further new service support for Europe comes in the shape of Deezer's WebRadio and SmartRadio streamed music, Mediafly's on demand personalised channels and Classical.com's canon of classical, jazz and blues.
Napster and Classical.com are offering a 30-day free trial to Squeezeboxers before they start to charge, while Deezer, SmartRadio and Mediafly will remain free, adding to the existing Last.fm personalised music streams and web-based Music Locker, a digital music storage site.
'The addition of Napster, Deezer, Mediafly and Classical.com music
services brings a dramatically richer selection of music to the Logitech Squeezebox', commented David Wall, regional product manager of Logitech's streaming music business. 'Now you have literally thousands of songs and radio stations at your fingertips. The only challenge is deciding what to listen to, and where'.
