For any of you not quite yet credit crunched and looking forward to the forthcoming release of Denon's much-anticipated DVD-A1UD 'ultimate' Blu-ray player, hold your horses as it's being reported that the UK release has been bumped back until October.
First announced in December and recently demo'd at the Bristol Sound & Vision show, the box of marvels will support Blu-ray alongside the audiophile DVD-Audio and SACD music formats to take its place as the hub machine in any AV set-up. But Denon has stated that as it 'takes time to optimise the play format' on the machine, we'll be waiting a while longer yet.
If and when it does finally arrive we can expect Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio and all the quality usually associated with the Japanese brand, especially where its high-end product line is concerned.
Then again, ten months from launch to release? Someone's dragging their heels at Denon HQ.
No final word on price and exact confirmed release date yet, but it's bound to be soon. Right Denon?
