Denon has announced details concerning the 'awesome first models' from its new wave of 2009 AV receivers.
The AVR-1610, AVR-1910 and AVR-2310 promise to deliver Denon's best ever sound, primarily because two of the new arrivals have been specifically tuned for the UK market.
All offer access to the latest HD sonic formats including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio with on-screen display and Denon iPod dock control, leading-edge image enhancement tech, HDMI 1.3a with support for DeepColor, extensive connectivity options and 'the full gamut' of Audyssey's acoustic optimisation systems.
The range comprises the entry-level AVR-1610, a five-channel block delivering 550W; the AVR-1910 offering seven channels and 840W; and the AVR-2310 also serving up seven channels with a slightly increased 875W power output.
The latter two models also upconvert analogue sources to 1080p, support Dolby Pro-Logic IIz, and are sonically optimised for the UK market, though exactly how and what that means Denon isn't saying.
Comments Denon UK product marketing manager Roger Batchelor on these and future launches, 'The UK tuning programme demonstrates Denon's acknowledgement of the special importance of the domestic market, and we are confident the new series will entertain and thrill both new and existing Denon customers. We are also planning to announce changes to our mid-range to high-end receiver offering. Details on these changes will be released in late May'.
In the meantime, the AVR-1610 will retail at £350, the AVR-1910 at £480 and the AVR-3210 at £850 when they go on sale in June.
