Announced for the UK market mere days ago, we've had a call from Sony updating us on the price and release date for its gorgeous looking new BDP-S360 Blu-ray player, which goes on sale in July and does indeed meet the entry-level claims with a price tag of only £230. Good work Sony!
Alongside the S360 are two other new releases, the HT-SS360 and HT-FS3 surround sound systems.
Both HD enabled BRAVIA systems, they are designed to work specifically and seamlessly with the S360 to create what Sony describes as a 'superlative home theatre experience'.
The SS360 includes satellite speakers that deliver a sizeable 1,000W power output with support of course for Blu-ray sonics.
The system also supports Sony's S-AIR wireless technology for cable free speakers and intelligent DCAC (Digital Cinema Auto Calibration) for quick and easy speaker set up by measuring speaker distance, volume and frequency to optimise the sound performance.
Digital Cinema Sound also enhances the surround experience with Cinema Studio Modes intending to replicate film sound tracks as they were originally recorded.
Next up is the HT-FS3 that promises a 'superb surround sound experience without littering your living room with wires and clutter'.
It sports FM/AM radio, 2.1 channels of S-Force PRO Front surround sound and is fitted with a Digital Media port for hooking up and accessing content stores on MP3 players, computers and mobile phones.
Frustratingly, there's no word yet on pricing or release dates for these, but Sony has promised to let us know soon.
