LaCie LaCinema Black PLAY & LaCinema Black RECORD

By Duncan Madden

LaCinema Black
LaCie has launched two new wireless HD media players with the 'does what it says on the tin' LaCinema Black PLAY and LaCinema Black RECORD.

Designed by Neil Poulton, the new media players allow users to watch downloaded HD films and TV programmes direct via the TV, and a built-in UPnP client lets users access media content from networked PC or Mac wirelessly in the home. Both can be connected via standard network connection, or via Wi-Fi.

Compatible with Full HD 1080p playback and serving 1080i upscaling from standard def footage, they can also play HD JPEG images and give the option of HD surround sound using the optical audio output.

The RECORD features tuners that turn it into a DVR with pause, record and rewind options when hooked up to a set-top box or cable converter.

Offering 500GB hard drives and USB ports for hooking up all manner of peripheral, the LaCinema Black PLAY and RECORD are priced from £289.
