Tannoy EFX5.1 speaker system

Tannoy has updated its FX5.1 speaker system with the announcement of the EFX5.1, a new product that is said to offer some subtle enhancements over its predecessor.

Catering for the specific audio requirements of the front sound stage within a home theatre system, the dedicated centre channel loudspeaker is now equipped with a supplementary bass driver to augment power handling. The subwoofer has also undergone some alterations, with the coupled cavity 6.5in design making way for a more compact down-firing reflex design with an 8in driver and utilising an improved performance 100-watt amp. Tannoy claims the end result is a faster, tighter low frequency performance with more overall impact.

The satellites and centre speakers now have a more luxurious high gloss finish than the original model, and if 5.1 sound just isn't enough, additional satellite or centre channel speakers are available to expand the EFX to 6.1 or even more complex system configurations.

The system is available for £299 in silver or black and is supplied complete with wall brackets for all of the satellites and 25m of speaker cable. Optional floor stands (again silver or black) are available at £54.90 per pair. For more information, visit: www.tannoy.com
