Bang & Olufsen BeoTime

By Duncan Madden

Bang & Olufsen BeoTime
A slightly tenuous one this, but it's quirky enough to bring to your attention and is designed by one of the premier AV companies - we refer of course to Bang & Olufsen's BeoTime.

Essentially an alarm clock that is 'equal parts stylish and functional', the anodised polished aluminium flute-shaped BeoTime doubles up as a remote control for any Bang & Olufsen AV kit you may have at home.

The extraordinary looking device (apparently inspired by Mozart's 'The Magic Flute') also sports a built-in sleep timer that can switch off B&O kit to any prior time the user wishes.

Elsewhere there's an auto-rotating screen that orientates itself in landscape or portrait mode depending on how it's held and a 'trumpet shaped' button used to control alarm functions.

An 'almost invisible' magnetic wall bracket is supplied, which could go some way to justifying the $375 price tag, if not all the way. On sale in Bang & Olufsen showrooms from August.
