Philips has added to its Blu-ray line-up with the release of the new BDP3000 BD spinner, clearly targeting the entry-level market with the claim that it will deliver the 'stunning quality of Full HD movies… to more people than ever before'.
The BDP3000 is a Profile 2.0 spinner, which means it offers up BD Live interactivity and firmware upgrades via its Ethernet port for future proofing.
However, to get the full benefits of BD Live users will have to add their own external storage solution, as there's no in-built flash memory.
Spec-wise the BDP3000 is a Full HD 1080p 24fps player with upscaling of standard def to near 1080p quality. Features extend to Dolby TrueHD 7.1 surround sound, x.v.color, and DivX, MP3 and Jpeg playback.,p>
Available now, Philips' latest will set you back a very reasonable £170.
