Danish speaker manufacturer Dynaudio has revealed two new models for its DM speaker range - the DM 3/7 floorstander and the £450 DM Centre.
The DM 3/7 is a two-way design and features two 17cm MSP (magnesium silicate polymer) mid/bass drivers with 75mm aluminium voice coils and rigid, low-resonance die-cast aluminium driver baskets.
Dynaudio claims that the large internal cabinet volume surrounding the 25mm front baffle helps thew DM 3/7 deliver "a powerful, dynamic bass performance".
The speaker's tweeter uses a specially-coated 28mm textile dome with a lightweight aluminium voice coil, as well as ferrofluid damping and a powerful internal magnet.
Sensitivity is claimed to be 86dB and maximum power handling 200 watts, which the company says should make it compatible with a wide variety of amplifiers.
The DM Centre is the other new speaker and comes with a soft-dome tweeter between a pair of 11cm MSP bass/mid drivers. It's intended to stand on an angled metal plinth to help the sound disperse upwards and outwards, and can be used with the DM 3/7 floorstanders or DM 2/7 standmount speakers at the front, or with DM 2/6 models at the rear for a surround sound set-up.
The Dynaudio DM 3/7 and DM Centre are available now in rosewood or black ash laminate finishes for £1,299 and £450 respectively.
