Denon 1906 and 2106 AV receivers

AVR-2106 (AVR-1906 has same design)

With the third quarter of 2005 upon us, Denon has decided to tweak its mid-range AV receiver line-up for next year with the announcement of two new models. The AVR-2106 is a highly specified refinement of the best-selling 2105 and the AVR-1906 is a substantial upgrade on its 1905 model.

The AVR-1906 boasts the latest 32-bit DSP, 7x115-watt amplifiers and now includes Denon's 'Fast Auto Setup' and full 'On Screen Displays' to help set-up. All surround processing is carried out at an impressive 96kHz including Dolby PLIIx and Enhanced DTS Neo:6 and to help deliver clearer sound all audio DACs are 24-bit/192kHz devices. Multiple inputs have also been added (the most notible being three HDTV ready component video sockets) to give greater flexibility and digital circuits and power supply have been upgraded to boost sound quality.

The AVR-2105 has been upgraded with a host of new features for the 2106. The new model not only boasts 'Fast Auto Setup', high-end DSP decoding and seven amplifiers delivering 125 watts of power but also sports surround processing at 96kHz. Like the 1906, the 2106 comes with three HDTV ready component video inputs and also features new on-screen displays.

Both models should be in the shops now with the AVR-1906 reatiling at £330 and the AVR-2106 costing £450. More information can be found at www.denon.co.uk
