Pre-orders are now being taken for the long awaited Bluetrip from the company that bought us the iTrip and the AirClick. For those of you that don't know, the Bluetrip is a device that plugs into the top of the iPod and adds Bluetooth technology to the player. This allows the music to be streamed to any Bluetooth-compatible music source. Luckily you'll also get a receiver to plug into your hi-fi, hence making your existing set-up useable.
Griffin is actually promoting it as a product to turn your iPod into the 'ulitimate' remote control, which as well as being great marketing, is also a good way to think about it. Essentially you'd be able to get a Sonos-esque set-up but without the massive expense or trouble of copying your music onto a Sonos device. The Bluetrip should also be compatible with Bluetooth car radios meaning we finally have a legal, wireless, in-car solution for our iPods.
