Marantz DV9600 multi-format source component

By Dave Carter

Marantz has unveiled the world's first DVD player capable of producing a 1080p video signal. As the ultimate resolution available to High Definition the DV9600 will help you get the most from HD compatible screens. The Marantz has state-of-art video scaling technology which facilitates upscaling to 720p and 1080i.

Inside the attractively designed box the power is drawn from a 216MHz/14-bit video processor from Analog Devices and a propriety technology, NSV, ensures the most accurate signal representation possible. The DV9600 also features HDMI connectivity that allows digital video feeds to travel completely uncompressed in full bandwidth.

As well as strong video capabilities the DV9600 is also a powerful audio player, as well as 7.1 channel support it features two IWEE1394 digital audio connections for fully lossless data transfer from high-resolution music sources such as SACD and DVD-A.

The DV9600 is available now for £1500, more information at www.marantz.com
