New audio systems from Creative

(from left) T6060, GW500, T3030

Over the last few years Creative has built a name for itself in the audio market, offering a range of affordable, decent sounding speakers as well as a number of nifty little portable audio players. It now hopes to reinforce this reputation with the release of three new speaker systems geared mainly towards PC and console gaming. And with the release of Microsoft's Xbox 360 just days away now, timing couldn't be better...

First up is the GigaWorks ProGamer G500, which, as the title suggests, is designed to hook up to your games console or PC, supplying a meaty 310 watts RMS of 5.1 surround sound. At £199 it's certainly not the cheapest 5.1 gaming system around, but for those lacking in the funds department there's the £60 Inspire T6060. Again, it's a 5.1 surround system, but this one can also be set up with your TV or hi-fi as well as a PC. Obviously it's not as powerful as the G500 (the centre speaker throws out a modest 18 watts of power), but it does come with a wired remote with bass level control, headphone jack and auxiliary input for connection to MP3 players and other home music systems.

For something less instrusive on your space there's the 2.1 Inspire T3030 speaker system, designed for listening to music on your PC or from your MP3 player. For a meagre £40 not only do you get two two-speakers and a subwoofer, but there's a wired remote thrown in as well.

Now, design-wise these speakers aren't going to set the world alight, but you can't argue with the price, with the T6060 looking particularly good value. All models are available now and if you've recently purchased one of these models we'd be interested to hear from you how they sound.
