PMC has announced the Wafer series of in-wall and on-wall loudspeakers, expanding its existing Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) technology range. The Wafer series is comprised of two models, available in a dedicated on-wall or in-wall form. The on-wall Wafer 1 unit and in-wall 1-iw contain 5 ½in bass units and the on-wall Wafer 2 and in-wall 2-iw boast larger 6 ½in bass units.
The interior of each cabinet is divided to create a long chamber, which is claimed to produce a far louder, deeper and more clearly defined bass extension than from a conventional design. Another feature is PMC's Twin Tweeter technology, which makes horizontal and vertical placement possible both higher and lower than the listener.
The absorbent surface is designed to prevent unwanted reflections from the front baffle and the surrounding wall or ceiling, and instead concentrates pure audio directly into the listening space. For that seamless look the slim line grille and frame can be painted to blend into your home décor.
The Wafer series grille fabric and cabinet are available in a variety of finishes including white, silver, grey and black with prices ranging from £1100 to 1650 per pair.
