Aesthetix president and designer Jim White began his relentless pursuit of the ultimate preamplifier design over 10 years ago, introducing the Jupiter series of preamps back in 1994. The Rhea is the latest and uses the same basic audio circuit as the Io, with minor variations introduced to reduce the number of valves.
The Rhea is a three input, high gain phono stage utilising five valves per channel with no solid state amplifying devices in the signal path. There's front panel controls for gain, loading, cartridge demagnetizer, input selection, mute, display brightness and standby with all functions also operated by the included remote. Each input is fully disconnected from the audio circuit when not in use and two pairs of Neutrik XLR and gold plated RCA sockets are provided for audio output as well as three gold plated phono inputs.
The Rhea is available now for £2995.
