We all know that high-def is the future, but it's not just a matter of plugging any old digital interconnect into your HDTV and expecting the picture to be more crisp than a Walker's bag of Salt & Vinegar. No siree, with the HDTV format ranging from 420i to 1080p resolution, there's quite a big difference in quality of picture you're able to obtain, and with some cables struggling to transmit even a 1080i picture, you're gonna need a top quality cable to receive the max 1080p.
This is where IXOS comes in, as it's just announced details of a new set of Tru-HD cables that claim to deliver 1080p signals for distances up to 25 feet, and 720p/1080i for anything up to and over 80 feet (although if you need a cable that long, your living room is obviously far too massive).
There's three models to choose from, the XHT458 HDMI - HDMI, XHT408 HDMI - DVI and XHV458 DVI - DVI, with the HDMI terminated cables all featuring IXOS' patented PC board built inside the connector, which is designed to minimize FEXT (Far End Cross Talk), a common problem with the HDMI connector.
Pricing for the XHT458 HDMI - HDMI ranges from £80 for 1 metre up to £220 for 15 metres, with the XHT408 HDMI - DVI starting at £80 for 1 metre rising to £225 for 15 metres. The XHV458 DVI - DVI costs £60 for 1 metre and £190 for a maximum length 15 metres.
