Manufacturer Crystal Audio has unveiled a stunning new floorstander, dubbed the T3.
Perhaps the most distinctive piece of engineering on the T3s is the original 'free air' tweeter. Sitting in its own spherical, aluminium enclosure on top of the 113cm tall cabinets, the 25mm, silk-dome, Neodymium tweeter can be rotated to face ear axis, making room integration easier.
Lower down the frequency range, the three and a half-way T3s employ 16.5cm 'Crystal fibre' mid/bass drivers set around a phase plug. The magnetically shielded drivers are backed by heavy duty magnets. Each driver is housed in its own damped and sealed chamber, with the two woofers having airflow ports.
The whole unit is mounted on a hefty metal plinth, which bends to a thin edge along its front and back aspects. An acoustically dead, wood compound plate further isolates the speaker from the plinth.
The T3 is available now at £600 per pair.
