Having already bagged a prestigious 2006 CES Innovation Award, Philips' new wafer thin HTS9800W home cinema system is finally ready to grace your living room.
Featuring HDMI connectivity, 720p/1080i video upscaling and multichannel Super Audio CD playback the HTS9800W is one of the first systems around to offer Dolby Digital EX 6.1 surround sound processing using wireless rear speakers. Also on board is a progressive scan-enabled component video output, RGB Scart output and digital coaxial input as well as support for DVD, DVD+/-R/RW, (S)VCD, SACD, MPEG4, CD-R/RW, MP3, WMA/MP3-CD and JPEG CDs.
With its sleek, wall mountable components and uber-cool touch screen control panel, (not to mention 800 watts of audio muscle) we're literally falling over ourselves to get our hands on the HTS9800W.
Hopefully we'll have a review soon, but if you can't wait till then expect to pay around £700 for the HTS9800W.
