TCI King Constrictor power lead

By Alex Rothwell

Cable boffin TCI has bolstered its mains cable line-up with the deadly sounding King Constrictor power lead. Designed primarily as an upgrade for your CD/DVD player and pre-amp, the King Constrictor should also be able to squeeze some more audio performance from your amp.

The TCI King Constrictor comes with a Rhodium-plated 13A plug and boasts a Split-Braid Twin-Earth design. With 16 x PTFE insulated Silver-plated Copper conductors, the cable is able to carry more than 60 amps at 500 volts RMS.

Starting at £250 for one metre (£300 for 1.5m and £350 for 2.5m), the TCI King Constrictor is clearly one seriously high-end mains cable.

A power lead (as long as it isn't faulty) can't affect the sound of a hi fi component. It's absurd.
