Having proved itself the master of all things upscaling with its £2,700 DVD-A1XVA 1080p DVD player, Denon is hoping to entice more modestly sized wallets towards the new DVD-1730 player.
Sporting a familiar brushed alumninium facade, the DVD-1730 will be able to spruce up your DVDs to 'near-HD' picture quality, offering 720p/1080i upscaling via its HDMI out. Pretty standard stuff you might think, but Denon will no doubt be hoping that its 10 bit 108 MHz video DACs will squeeze out that little bit extra in the upscaling stakes.
It's not just Hi-Def junkies that are catered for, as the DVD-1730 also offers progressive scan via component and an RGB Scart out. Other highlights include DivX compatibility and multi-format playback including MP3 and JPEG support.
The DVD-1730 is due to hit the shops this month for around £150.
