With the barbecue season in full swing, what better way to accompany the smell of burning beef burgers than with a spot of music - step onto the patio then Monitor Audio's new Climate 10 speaker.
But with the average British summer lasting all of five minutes it's important that any outdoor speaker can handle the rubbish weather for the remainder of the year. No problem, as the Climate 10 comes with a rain and UV resistant sealed ABS enclosure along with a paintable rust-proof aluminium grille and bracket.
A C-CAM gold dome tweeter and MMP Mk2 bass/mid-range driver provide 60 watts of power which should be more than enough to annoy the neighbours, and just in case it's not there's an additional sealed ABR (Auxiliary Bass Radiator) to enhance low frequencies with extra punch and penetration.
Out now, the Climate 10 will cost you around £200.
For the indoors, Monitor Audio has also released the 100 and 200 in-wall speaker range. All come with lightweight aluminium alloy grilles, pivoting tweeters and paintable casing. They're also splash and humidity proof so they're good for the bathroom.
The five-strong line-up includes the C165 with 6.5in MMP II bass driver, the C180 featuring an 8in MMP II bass driver and the C165T2 single stereo unit with 6.5in MMP II dual wound voice coil bass driver and independent pivoting tweeters. The 200 range includes the C265 with a 6.5in C-CAM bass driver and C280 featuring an 8in C-CAM bass driver.
All models are out next month with pricing yet to be confirmed.
