It's hard to believe every possible angle in the portable media player market hasn't already been covered a million times, but we were racking our brains and couldn't remember seeing anything quite like the Oono MiniDAB player before.
Like some overloaded tech sandwich, new UK company Oono has stuffed a DAB radio, FM receiver, MP3 player, voice recorder and 128MB memory into an attractive, and extremely affordable crust.
Initially we thought, 'ah, but 128MB is never going to be enough', but then we learnt there's an SD card slot to add a potential 2GB of storage transforming it into an iPod-nano like device - only dare we say it - possibly better.
You can even set up timed recordings so you can record live radio while you're listening to it or programme recordings in advance and leave the MiniDAB to do the rest.
All this for £180. How do you like them apples, Mr Jobs?
