We've recently had some fascinating forum chat on whether headphone amps are really worth investing in. Manufacturer HeadRoom obviously reckons so as its announced the latest addition to its headphones product range - the HeadRoom Desktop Balanced Amp.
The HeadRoom Desktop Balanced Amp is all about providing the huge sound of fully balanced drive at a space-saving size (6in x 6in). The Desktop Balanced Amp's inputs allow you to listen to virtually any audio source including USB, optical, or coaxial digital. Plus it'll take any standard analogue or digital audio signal and convert it to balanced drive; all you need is a pair of balanced headphones. The Amp also offers upgradeable internal electronics; HeadRoom Crossfeed, filter and gain switches.
The HeadRoom Desktop Balanced Amp is out shortly in the US for around $900. UK release date and price to be confirmed.
