'COMPETENT AV AMP, A RECOMENDED BUY'
Strengths:
7.1 capable amp with the warm, rich sound that seems to be the Denon trademark. Plenty of tweaking possible to achieve that desired sound.
Weaknesses:
Being surpassed by the 3805, the 3803 does not offer auto set-up or Denon link. However, pure direct mode does a good job of delivering pure signals from ext inputs.
Overall:
I've had this amp for two years and I'm still discovering tweaks that have improved the openess and detail of the sound. If you're using component video and prefer the analogue feed from a CD/DVD for sound (DVD-A, etc) then it should be a a sound buy.
