'EXCELLENT'
Strengths:
Highly detailed sound, with no coloration. Well extended and effortless bass extension without any audible distortion. Mechanically good design as well - the cord is just about long enough and is rugged. Very comfortable even after hours of use.
Weaknesses:
The styling could be brought into the 21st century a bit without too much redesign. But for what really matters (the sound) - no real weaknesses.
Overall:
Take no notice of the reviews criticising sound leakage - these headphones are quite clearly specified as an open-backed design - if you don't like that then don't buy them. I do! Am exciting sound but without fatigue. So an excellent purchase.

'SIMPLY THE BEST...'
Strengths:
You name it...
Weaknesses:
Open backed - good for listener not companions in room! Limits who listen to with the children around if you get my drift
Overall:
Fantastic bass, depth, separation and soundstage even at very low volume levels. You don't have to crank these delights up to hear the music BUT you can... I've had them over a year and would recommend and buy again should they ever fail.

'LIVELY BUT FATIGUING - COMFORT MAY BE AN ISSUE'
Strengths:
Forward and involving presentation. Exciting sound; great with pop and rock.
Weaknesses:
Very coloured and fatiguing with acoustic and classical. Can be HUGELY uncomfortable for some after a couple of hours.
Overall:
Definitely try to audition with a range of music before buying. The initially dynamic presentation conceals a lack of fine detail. Many people find them too uncomfortable for anything but short listening sessions.

'EXCELLENT.'
Strengths:
Good detail,Excellent sound, Comfort,Price
Weaknesses:
Open backed-Not good for trains & buses if Marilyn Manson is leaking out!
Overall:
2 years ago,I made my mind up to buy a pair of Sennheisers around the £30-£50 mark. After trying on several pairs, I wasn't completely satisfied with my head being "clamped" so i thought I owed it to myself to try these SR60's. I was blown away when I put these on.To be honest, I wasn't exactly struck on the design at first, but no matter which 'phones I tried, I kept going back to these Grado's, even though at £80 they were nearly double my budget. These feel really light on your head-you hardly notice them. Sound quality is excellent, although being an "open" design, they let music out & let noise in.Saying that though, most people will use them indoors so this shouldn't be a big issue. If you are in the market for a pair of headphones, give a pair of Grado's a go-you never know! There are some good prices around at the moment-I've seen the SR1's with £250 off! By the way, i love the look of them now!!!

'AMAZING SOUND.'
Strengths:
Great sound, Good range. Good resolution. Thick cord. Price to performance ratio.
Weaknesses:
High can get a little sparkly. Can be uncomfortable for some after long sessions.
Overall:
These headphones are supra-aural (sit on your ear) and open backed in design. Not good if you are listening to your music in noisy public places as the sound leaks in and out. There is hardly any attenuation of outside noise. This design does lend itself well to a spacious encompassing sound. If you are a home listener on a budget then these are the Phones for you.

The other great thing about these Phones is that they do not require a Headphone Amp to make them shine. So they work well whether plugged into an I-Pod or home Hi-Fi system.

Comfort can be an issue. But a slight bend in the headband will almost completely alleviate this problem.

I listen to a wide range of music and I haven't noticed any undesirable colouration. The sound is natural and fluid although the high's can sparkle a little when pushed.

The cord is thick and I mean thick. It will take a lot of abuse to damge the wires of these, which is handy if you are mobile a lot.

I was not a fan of the styling. They wouldn't look out of place in a 1930's telephone exchange. But putting them on makes you realise that substance matters more than style. I don't mind the style now, it has grown on me, but, they won't get you any street cred if that's what is important to you.

In my opinion, these are the best sub £100 headphones on the market and probably the best sounding headphones you are likely to put on.
