'WELL BUILT AND SHIELDED CABLE - REDUCED NOISE'
Strengths:
A real monster of a cable compared to the standard SCART provided in the box with most AV equipment. Well built and well shielded for RFI.
The cable has reduced noise on the screen which has sharpened picture slightly.
Weaknesses:
Cable is very thick making it heavy and inflexible which may cause routing problems. The cable weight also makes fit into some scart sockets difficult as the cable can pull itself out on it's own weight unless supported. Unfortunately this is no fault of QED a lot of AV equipment just isn't epected to be connected by this sort of monster cable, you may need a cable tie or clip to assist the flimsy plasic SCART socket in the back of your TV.
Overall:
I bought this with a QED TTV to solve RFI problems on a Humax PVR, together they have done this. There has been a small improvement in picture but not one that I can justify the cost against at present, this may be because they are attached to a CRT screen.

It is a well constructed cable and well shielded. As noted by other reviewers this makes it more difficult to route than a cheap cable due to it's weight and thickness and some scart sockets struggle to hold it's weight without assistance. On the plus side it's shielding makes routing less critical, I don't mind that has to use the same route as some power cables because they don't seem to effect it as they would a standard cable.

I short I would recomend it but would caution buyers to make sure there are no other factors in their set-up effecting signal.

[Update 24/07/08] I now have this running into a Panasonic 46" Plasma. This is delivering as good a picture from the Humax as the onboard DVB tuner. As a result I have revised my rating upwards.

'EXCELLENT QUALITY'
Strengths:
Great picture and feels more robust than the flat-type of leads
Weaknesses:
Fairly rigid and extra room is taken up because of the way the connection is joined to the lead, so make sure the items to be connected are close together or get a longer lead.
Overall:
Highly recommended

'EXCELLENT VALUE PURCHASE'
Strengths:
Fantastic build quality - picture is significantly improved
Weaknesses:
None
Overall:
Makes a significant difference as an upgrade to the cheap scart leads that you find with the equipment. I had real problems with the cheap cable connectors, which kept flexing out of the scart if touched. This is very solid and connects firmly. This is a great cable and was an amazing buy at the offer price - it was significantly cheaper than anywhere else on the web.(Even cheaper than secondhand versions on eBay)

'A WORTHWHILE INVESTMENT FOR AN RGB PICTURE.'
Strengths:
Good improvement in picture quality. I don't know about sound as that is going through AV amp via phono/coax. Nice build quality. I found the biggest improvement by checking the Sky program guide as a reference tool. I found that can vary quite significantly with different cables.
Weaknesses:
It is very stiff so is prone to being dislodged.
Overall:
A great cable if you can get it to stay in the socket! It can look quite expensive, especially if teamed-up with a budget DVD player. Is the cable too dear or are some DVD players just ridiculously cheap? I had good results with this cable on a Toshiba SD 220E. This player cost £145 three years ago. It's present day equivalent would only cost £50. It would seem a bit mad to pay almost as much for the scart lead, but a worthwhile improvement would be seen.

'GOOD PICTURE BUT NEGATED BY BUILD'
Strengths:
Provided good P/Q, an improvement over the cheap cabled supplied certainly
Weaknesses:
The thick build of the cables and consequent weight seems to pull the scart plug a little out of the sockets if moved slightly - enought for the connection to be lost - as they don't flex too easily - this may be a problem with scart interface however
Overall:
Quite pricey given the above, but look around on the net, you could find a good deal to make it more worth while - i did.

'REASONABLE IMPROVMENT FROM STANDARD GOLD SCART LEAD'
Strengths:
Improved the Picture quality from the previous Scart I had (Standard Gold Scart from Argos), colours where more Vibrant
Weaknesses:
Not sure that the Improvment in Quality was reflected in the price of the Lead
Overall:
Good quality Scart, but a little pricey for the quality

'MADE A SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE TO PICTURE QUALITY'
Strengths:
Very high quality cable and connector. I used this to connect between a Toshiba DVD and a Philips 32PF9976. The picture quality instantly improved; the picture was crisper, colours were more vibrant and there was more depth to the picture.
Weaknesses:
None at the price.
Overall:
Makes a significant difference as an upgrade to the usual cheap, supplied scart leads (even the heavier, "low-loss" versions supplied with some better quality kit). The connectors, which on cheap cables are rubbish and don't connect at all well, are very solid and connect firmly. This is a great cable.
