Average Rating: 4 out of 5

    RRP: £44.96
    Year: 2004

Description: The principle is simple, two discs with a 100mm diameter clamp each side of the records label, thus protecting it during cleaning, this then rests in a groove at the top of the rectangular cleaning bath, the bath is topped up with supplied cleaning fluid, the record is then rotated around its central axis. As the record passes through the bath, two sets of brushes clean each side of the album. Once you’re happy with the results remove the record and centre clamps, and place your clean album on the rack to dry. Because the cleaning solution contains wetting agent, records should dry without smears. When cleaning is complete, pour your used cleaning fluid from the bath through a filtering funnel back into you cleaning fluid bottle for re-use.

    'GREAT VALUE FOR THE MONEY'
    Strengths:
very simple clear instructions, easy to use, reasonably effective for the money and it works!
    Weaknesses:
it is slow drying discs after cleaning them the rack does not fully allow drain off of the solution and the filter / funnel makes decanting the solution back to the bottle a slow process
    Overall:
Good basic record cleaning that works!
The instructions are very amusing as the translation is not too accurate!

    'EXCELLENT FOR THE MONEY'
    Strengths:
Cleans records very effectively and cheaply. For dirty records make sure you rotate both ways.
    Weaknesses:
As mentioned by evryone else, can wet labels and filtering can take a while. The cleaner supplied is ok but investiong in some Art du Son cleaner from Loricraft, HiFi Bitz or Hi Fi Choice is better.
    Overall:
Cost effective product that you can actually hear the difference with.

    'DOES WHAT IT SAYS'
    Strengths:
    Cleans records well.
    Weaknesses:
Needs time to get best results, works well as a pre cleaner before using proper record cleaning machine as the dust is left to be cleaned buy the stylus otherwise.
    Overall:
Good value easy to use record cleaner.

'NICE PRODUCT WITH A FEW NIGGLY PROBLEMS'
    Strengths:
If you have a medium size record collection or cant afford/want a real cleaning machine then this will work and get your records clean and antistatic
    Weaknesses:
difficult to get he fluid back into the bottle because of poorly designed pouring spouts. I recommend using a piece of tube as a syphon to get the fluid from the machine back to the bottle or you will end up losing a lot of valuable fluid.
    Overall:
very good machine for the price, if you buy from car boot sales, charity shops etc it is vital to clean before playing and the knosti will do just that. quickly and effectivley

'IT WORKS!! BUT YOU NEED PATIENCE'
    Strengths:
Clearly works, excellent results, better than microfibre cloth and spray by miles, very thorough
    Weaknesses:
label damage a minor risk if not done properly, you can only use 3/4 of the fluid in the bottle
    Overall:
I was a bit sceptical at first as my records are for DJ use and most are really grimey. After damaging a couple of prized rare records i started to take vinyl care seriously and knew that cloths were not going to be enough. The results really surprised me, most records came out genuinly looking like new, i can't stress that enough. It puts a visible sheen coat back on the record so they look superb. Most were transformed. A few footnotes: at first you will be tempted not to screw the label clamps too tightly in case you damage the labels - trust me do them up tight as liquid does seep through (they need rubber seals i think). Doing them up tightly will not cause damage to the label. When i used about half of the bottle of liquid it had turned from light green to brown, and filtering the liquid back into the bottle started to be a chore as it was so grimey and took over half an hour to pass through the filter (of which only 1 is provided). The fluid dribbles when pouring from the reservoir into the filter, its almost unavoidable. Finally the cleaner reservoir takes about a quater of the bottle to fill to the correct fluid height. This means once you are down to under a quarter of a bottle (about 80 records) you won't have enough to do the job properly - you cannot let the bottle run empty before buying replacement fluid. And buy this time the remaining fluid is so dirty you wont want to use it anyway! But the results are simply stunning.

'DOES AN AMAZING JOB AT THE PRICE'
    Strengths:
Astonishing cleaning results for such a simple device - unplayable records have become near perfect! Stores neatly away in little space.
    Weaknesses:
Can dribble fluid when pouring from cleaner to filter, but easy solution is to pour quickly into a jug first. Labels can get wetted at the edge but I've seen no evidence of damage yet. Could probably add a seal or O ring to solve this, if you've valuable records.
    Overall:
I'm delighted and expect to be using this invaluable tool for years on my grubby collection!

'REASONABLY EFFECTIVE AT REMOVING GRIME BUT CAN DAMAGE LABELS'
    Strengths:
Set up is relatively straightforward without the need for any tools. The cleaning agent proved extremely effective at disolving contamination. During replay the affects of cleaning were quite noticable having lower surface noise on a number of discs, some of which were relatively new.
    Weaknesses:
There were two weaknesses. The lip on the recipticle holding the fluid is not well designed in so far as pouring the liquid back into the bottle is a bit of an ordeal. The real problem with the device is the plastic label covers. These join together through the spindle hole by rotating the two halves. Unfortuneately if they are notscrewed tight enough then when the record is rotated in the bath a certain amount of friction occurs and on a couple of records there has been a degree of label damage. The two discs could benefit from a rubber non slip surface!
    Overall:
Effective cleaning agent but the design in one respect is seriously flawed. If the clamping mechanism was improved then this product would receive my whole hearted recommendation. As it is I would caution anyone using this to be most careful
