Strengths: Build quality is again, like all QED reference-line interconnects, excellent. Especially the locking Rhodium plated RCA connectors. Signal purity is guaranteed due to the excellent triple screening geometry.
Weaknesses: Cable is not as thick and wheighty as I would have liked. Compared to the analog Reference Silver Spiral it is rather unsubstantial in appearence. But this is a minor quible.
Overall: Compared to my other digital interconnects, this cable is exceptional in the way it carries the signal. Somehow it seems to have more bass weight to it, as well as extentions in the highs. I know this should not be possible, but I've switched back and forth between cables, and it is undeniable. Bass is deeper, transients seem faster and the details in mids and highs are more defined. Haven't heard a better digital cable yet.
Strengths: Everything you'd expect and some at this price point...
Weaknesses: As above, nothing at this price point...
Overall: Now been burnt-in, I can heartily recommend this above every other digital co-ax I've ever used. Much more transparent and it's range seems much broader. I use this on a 'mid-range' Yamaha RX-V657 a Denon 1930. Movie Dolby and DTS is truly awe inspiring.
And as if one would need any more temptation, HiFi Cables did this at £50. To get this sort of quality and performance from other co-ax cables, you'd be spending at least double.
Another success from QED.
